Capturing the Magic

Curated Images You’re Guaranteed to Love

I love hearing about my client’s reactions when they see samples of their photos.  Because digital photography makes it inexpensive to capture many pictures in a setting, I go through hundreds of photographs, picking only the ones that really capture the magic of the event and the client’s personality.

How I Capture the Moment

Keep the Client Comfortable

An educator by (first) trade, I’ve had plenty of time to study how people react to someone in their comfort zone.

This translates to photography because I have spent time figuring out how to get people out of their comfort zones. If people can learn to write about new things and think outside of the box, then learning how to become a picturesque subject is easy. If it takes a minute or an hour to capture the perfect magic of your special moment, I’ll find a way in without breaking the mood.

A Study of Subjects

Therapeutic Solutions for Capturing You At Your Best

Because I like to think outside of that metaphorical box, I’ve learned how to approach a subject from a number of different possible angles, both physically and figuratively.

Unlike big-box photography studios, I work with my subject to make them comfortable so that they’re willing to reveal that special magic to me. Instead of snapping the first picture of a child smiling, I look for more.

I tend to just have my subjects do what comes naturally, letting them show their real personality in the photographs I capture. If a child needs to play, let him play. If something is funny, laugh. These are what make the photo real.

I spend time before a shoot or event getting to know my clients so that their love shows through in photos that they’ll adore because it captures their spirit.

Family portraits don’t have to be staged and staid! I’m willing to travel to your favorite place (within reason) and catch your family at play.
